Jeana Wescott Marriage Counselor Golden Valley Minnesota

The exhaustion of endless arguments, the worry that produces sleepless nights, the loneliness of disconnection, and the feeling of being on an emotional rollercoaster—it doesn't have to be this way. You are deserving of a relationship you feel good about.

I specialize in Gottman Method Couples Therapy because I know from experience how powerful it is to have a well-trained therapist dedicated to guiding couples and individuals to get out of the patterns that keep them stuck.

I'm here to help you find healing, repair, and loving, satisfying relationships.

How I work

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that connection is part of being human.

I’m glad you’re here. I understand the vulnerability it takes to share your relational story and recognize the resilience of being in therapy. I provide a compassionate, intentional, and direct approach that encourages the lasting change you want in your life and relationships.

I help my clients understand the damaging cycles they keep repeating and grasp how behaviors shape their relationships. Therapy is a journey of tuning into your emotions and engaging with your relationship in a healthier way. Having a well-trained therapist by your side can help you learn the tools and transform your relationships.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work systemically to provide an understanding of how individuals can work together in relationships. Understanding how we connect in our closest relationships, I help my clients create the best possible process to accomplish overall relational well-being.

As a Certified Gottman Therapist, I’ve been using the Gottman Method for over a decade working with couples. I’ve been honored to do this work, witnessing couples authentically transform their relationship with therapy backed by evidence, relationship science, and learning what makes love truly last.

My Core Values at Luminate Therapy

Curiosity

I strongly desire to learn and be inquisitive about our and others' concerns, emotions, and understanding. People who are curious have better relationships, engage positively, and cultivate connection and engagement. Curiosity is the catalyst to intimacy with ourselves and our relationships.

Connection

Connection is the heart of what I do. It is the feeling that you belong and how you feel closer to others. Connection is a core psychological need and is essential to life satisfaction. In our relationships, it is a feeling of alignment and emotional intimacy. A connection is a deeper level to the soul to reach secure relationships.

Creativity

Creativity is the ability to consider something new through generating ideas, alternative possibilities, communication, problem-solving, and open-mindedness. Creativity can be an exploratory and transformational way to reach an understanding of ourselves and others.

Outside of being a therapist, I'm human, just like you.

I enjoy traveling to our amazing National Parks, including hiking the backcountry and running half marathons in these beautiful landscapes. I enjoy a good cup of Americano, reading non-fiction books, being an extrovert who enjoys a good laugh, and spending time with the people I love.
