How I work
At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that connection is part of being human.
I’m glad you’re here. I understand the vulnerability it takes to share your relational story and recognize the resilience of being in therapy. I provide a compassionate, intentional, and direct approach that encourages the lasting change you want in your life and relationships.
I help my clients understand the damaging cycles they keep repeating and grasp how behaviors shape their relationships. Therapy is a journey of tuning into your emotions and engaging with your relationship in a healthier way. Having a well-trained therapist by your side can help you learn the tools and transform your relationships.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work systemically to provide an understanding of how individuals can work together in relationships. Understanding how we work together in our closest relationships, I help my clients create the best possible process to accomplish overall relational well-being.

Approach to therapy:
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work systemically to provide an understanding of how individuals can work together in different types of groups (couples, families, and communities). By understanding how we work together in our relationships, I work with couples and individuals to create the best possible process to accomplish overall relational well-being. I work from a strengths-based, attachment-focused, and trauma-informed lens in therapy.
Working with couples and individuals, I offer expertise and specialized therapy. I have advanced training in evidence-based Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the science-based Gottman Method of Couples Therapy.
Approach to Spiritual Direction In Therapy
Only upon request can I combine my education and expertise in theology, chaplaincy, and therapy to provide a person-centered care approach. My spiritual care experience utilizes compassion to assess religious, spiritual, and existential concerns integrated throughout the therapy process. I believe in the client's values, cultural values, and beliefs. As a professional, I do not promote a particular spiritual or religious agenda. I am specialty trained in interreligious dialogue to meet people where they are on their spiritual journey. The client is the leader in expressing their beliefs in the therapeutic space.
My Core Values at Luminate Therapy
Curiosity
I strongly desire to learn and be inquisitive about our and others' concerns, emotions, and understanding. People who are curious have better relationships, engage positively, and cultivate connection and engagement. Curiosity is the catalyst to intimacy with ourselves and our relationships.
Connection
Connection is the heart of what I do. It is the feeling that you belong and how you feel closer to others. Connection is a core psychological need and is essential to life satisfaction. In our relationships, it is a feeling of alignment and emotional intimacy. A connection is a deeper level to the soul to reach secure relationships.
Creativity
Creativity is the ability to consider something new through generating ideas, alternative possibilities, communication, problem-solving, and open-mindedness. Creativity can be an exploratory and transformational way to reach an understanding of ourselves and others.
Outside of being a therapist, I'm human, just like you.
I enjoy traveling to our amazing National Parks, including hiking the backcountry and running half marathons in these beautiful landscapes. I enjoy a good cup of Americano, reading non-fiction books, being an extrovert who enjoys a good laugh, and spending time with the people I love.
